The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the statutory body and a national-level council for technical education, under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. Established in November 1945 first as an advisory body and later on in 1987 given statutory status by an Act of Parliament, AICTE is responsible for proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education and management education system in India.The council has the responsibility of conducting surveys on the available facilities for Technical Education in India, promoting coordinated development and ensuring appropriate planning of the Technical education system and management Education system in India. AICTE also ensure the Quality in Technical Education in the Country. Every day new developments happen in technical education, so it is the task of AICTE to promote technical education in such a way that it remains the latest and updated in India

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (initially Kerala Technological University),a State Government University has come into existence on May 21, 2014 with an aim to give leadership to the technology related policy formulation and Engineering Planning for the State.
It is both a teaching and affiliation university, with more than 150 affiliated colleges and over 160,000 students enrolled. It is an AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and UGC (University Grants Commission) approved university that offers UG and PG courses. KTU also provides B.TechHonours as well as Minor programs in addition to regular courses.
APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University offers engineering and technology-related courses and has advanced courses and syllabi compared to the courses offered by its predecessor, the old and reputed Kerala University. It is a relatively new and reformed university, with its first batch in 2015.
